OMR Sheet Design Mistake

The process of designing the OMR sheets has become a cakewalk with the help of the OMR Software. You can design different types of OMR sheet formats or layouts with the software. If you do not want to design the sheet on your own, you can download an OMR sheet from the internet and use it after calibrating it with the software. Although this is an easy procedure, mistakes are likely to happen. Hence, it is extremely crucial to understand the OMR sheet design mistakes so that you can avoid them.

  • The four index points are the most important components of the OMR sheet as these enable the software to identify the dark marks on the sheet. You have to ensure that these marks are not manipulated in any way during the editing stage.
  • While absence of the index points on the OMR sheets is a grave mistake, lack of white space around the bubbles can also cause hindrance while reading the OMR sheets.
  • It is important to calibrate the OMR sheets with the software, otherwise the OMR Reader Software will not be able to read or evaluate the sheets.
  • A sheet that contains bubbles or boxes cannot be called an OMR sheet unless it is designed or calibrated by the OMR software. Sheets designed using DTP software are not OMR sheets.
  • The size of all the bubbles should be same. Also, ensure that the distance between the bubbles is equal. Too congested bubbles can cause problems for the OMR reader software.
  • The outline of the bubbles should not be too thick as the OMR software may detect it as a dark mark. Moreover, the font of the text inside the bubbles should be small or thin.

Knowing about these OMR Sheet Design Mistakes will help you to avoid them while designing the OMR sheets.
